This project has some absurd and surreal visions in it. And I enjoy how Walter Ciceri have used the motif of this wall to explore improbable narratives
that contain touches of reality that almost feel familiar. The photographs certainly keep me engaged in the process of discovery.
With the conditions of Covid-19, many artists/photographers have been looking to the literal as ways to explore the events.
Often this includes face masks, hand sanitizer, pictures out apartment windows, and so on. But Walter Ciceri have chosen a unique way
of exploring this story. If the home weren't specific enough, Walter have chosen to use a wall as the leitmotif of this project.
And of course a wall is one of the most elemental qualities of a home; the place where so many people have been confined during
this pandemic. I find this choice quite intelligent and thoughtful.
I also enjoy the ways used for explore these fantastical moments and creations. As I mentioned above, the scenes that are unfolding
have an absurd quality to them. However, they also expand upon what many people's quarantine experience included: cooking, cleaning,
reading, hanging around, and perhaps sex too. This is a very creative ways to explore this.
